On July 31, 2024,Emma Watson was recorded driving her blue Audi at 38 mph in Oxford where the speed limit was 30 mph. According to information provided by the court, Watson already had nine penalty points on her license prior to this incident. After receiving an additional three points for the speeding violation, her total hit 12, resulting in an automatic six-month driving ban under UK law.
At a five-minute hearing on July 16, 2025, at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Watson received the ban and was fined £1,044. The 35-year-old actress did not attend the session; her lawyer stated that she is a student and capable of paying the fine.
